Congratulations to Mr. Eric T. of the Netherlands!
Eric purchased the "Drawings Only" version of the Heavy Duty Knurling Tool Kit and did a fantastic job of his build.
Below are his words and photos.
Hi Doug,
Finished the knurling tool and quite happy with the end result.
Made entirely of offcuts I had in the shop. The only parts I had to buy were the spring and the knuling wheels.
Drilled and milled the upper and lower arms from a solid block of cold drawn mild steel.
The main body plate from two bits of hot rolled welded together and then milled to dimension.
For the pins I used the shanks of some old drills because I don't have any O1 tool steel.
The brass bits are made from the internals of some old pressure washer guns.
I need to get some shorter set screws for the wheel pins, because the ones I have are a bit too long.
I haven't decided yet if I'm going to cold blue the parts or spray them with Boeshield T-9.
I think the latter, because I do have that on the shelf.
I do have to do some more tests and get some experience with feeds and speeds, but the first results look very promising I think.
Thank You for making this available.
Cheers,
Eric
